DAILY POST #44

Imaam Ibn Hajar Al-‘Asqalaani – rahimahullaah said:

It is reported from Abu -Hurairah- radiyallaahu anhu – who said: The Messenger of Allah – salallaahu alayhi wasallam – said:
” When one of you wants to put on his shoes , he should put on the right one first , and when he wants to take them off , he should take off the left one first , so that the right one should be the first to be put on and the last to be taken off . “
Transmitted and recorded by Imaam Bukhaari in his ”Sahih” #5616 and Imam Muslim in his “Sahih” #2097 .

This Hadith teaches us the following:

1. It is beloved and preferred to begin our activities with the right side like putting on shoes , eating , getting dressed , making salam and giving out things or collecting . On the other hand , anything that has to do with Najaasah ( impurity ) is done with the left side like entering toilet , toileting e. t. c .

2 . It is the sunnah of the Messenger of Allah -sallaahu alayhi wasallam , for he always start his honorable acts using the right side .

3 . It shows that Islam is a religion that touches every aspect of life .

Allaahu A’alam!

Baarakallaahu feekum!
