COMMENTARY
The hadith shows the importance of the following:
1. It is Haraam and disliked for one to shun his brother for more than three nights. This implies that, it is permissible for ONLY three night and anything less than that.
2. It encourages one to forgive his brother and overlook his shortcomings.
3. It indicates that one should hasten to make salam to his brother wherever they meet. And this is because the first person to make salam is the best person.
4. It shows that by making salam to everyone we meet on the way whether we know them or not is a sign that our heart is devoid of rancor, envy, hatred, despise, and dislike towards our brothers.
