DAILY POST #62

Imaam Ibn Hajar Al-‘Asqalaani – rahimahullaah – said:

It is reported from Ibn Umar radiyallaahu anhumah”- who said – The Messenger of Allah -salallaahu alayhi wasallam said:
“Anyone who seeks refuge in Allah’s name, grant him protection;anyone who asks you in Allah’s name give him what he asks for; and if anyone does you a favor restitute him, but if you do not have the means to do so, make supplication for him.”

Transmitted and recorded by Imaam Bayhaqi in “Al Kubraa”199/4 and Imam Al Albani declared the hadith to be Sahih in “Assahiha”

COMMENTARY

The hadith shows the importance of the following:

1. It indicates that whosoever seeks sanctuary in Allah’s name, should be given protection.

2. It shows that whosoever asks in Allah’s name should be given what he asks for. This implies, one should always give out for the sake of Allah. And surely one will be rewarded for his good deeds.

3. It shows that whosoever does us a favor one way or the other, should not be overlooked. But rather, we should try to recompense him. By so doing, he will be very happy and pleased with us. However, this does not mean we are after pleasing him only, but whether he is pleased or not, we did it mainly for the sake of Allah.

4.It also indicates that if it happened that we could not find a way to restitute him, then we should make dua(supplication) for him. This means, no matter how, we should try to be among those people that show gratitude because Allah loves the Shaakirin( those that shows appreciation).

Allaahu A’alam! Baarakallaahu feekum!
