#1012: On Biding Farewell To Ramadhān On The Last Friday Of The Month
Assalamualaikum warahmatullah wabarakaatuh pls I have a question Jabir Ibn Abdullah (RA) narrates that I came into the company of the Prophet Muhammad SAW on the last Friday of Ramadan. As he saw me, he said, “O Jabir, This is the last Friday of Ramadan, so video it farewell by saying, O Allah, don’t let this be the last time I get to fast Ramadan, but if you decree thus, then make me from amongst those you show mercy to and don’t make from the ones who are deprived of it. Whoever says this will get one of two beautiful things, he will either get to fast next Ramadan or Allah Taala will forgive him his sins”Transliteration: (Allahumma1la taj’alhu akhira al’ahdi min siyamina iyyahu, fa-in ja’altahu faj’alny marhuma wa la taj’alny mahruman). How authentic is this Hadith? as this is the first time I’ve ever come across it.
ANSWER:
Wa Alaykum Salam Warahmatullah Wabarakatuh.
Alhamdulillahi!
Know, may the blessings of Allāh Ta’āla be upon you that, this Hadīth is not authentically confirmed in any book of Sunnah. Rather, it is fabricated and the source is from the book of Shī’aite who are known with fabrication and lies as mentioned by Ibn Taymiyah.
Hence, nothing can be derived from it since it is a fabrication.
Allāhu A’alām.
