#1061: On The Presentation Of Gift To A Muslim Sister Who Is Getting Married To A Non-Muslim
Assalamu alaikum warahmatullah wabarakatuh
Please can we present a gift to a Muslim sister who is trying to get married to a Christian guy
ANSWER:
Wa Alaykum Salam Warahmatullah Wabarakaatuh
Alhamdulillah, and may Allah bless you for seeking to know and understand the ruling of Allah on such a matter before you set forth for it. Amin.
Know, may Allah illumine your heart, that the entirety of the Muslim Ummah past and present have agreed and formed a consensus that it is Haraam to have a Muslim woman marry a Kaafir man. It is a matter whose affair is clearly spelt in the Qur’an, the Hadith and the Ijmaa of the Learned Ones.
The Fuqahaa also agreed that any Muslim Lady or woman who goes into such a marriage is only committing Zina.
If this is the ruling of the one who goes into such a marriage, then to give gifts to such a marriage is a form of encouragement on that which Allah has forbidden and is therefore Haraam.
Lastly, we encourage you to not relent. Continue to give sound advises to her.
May Allah illumine her heart and grant her Tawfiq, amin.
Baarakallaahu Fikum.
Jazakumullahu Khayran
