#152: Ruling on Taking Friday a Special Day for Tahajjud

*ON TAKING FRIDAY SPECIAL IN TERMS OF TAHAJJUD*
_” Assalam alaykum, please what is the rulings in going for tahajjud every Friday night or Fridays that end the month.”_
*ANSWER*
Wa alaykum Salām Warahmatullāh Wabarakātuh
Alhamdulillāh
It is wrong and prohibited in Islām to specifically choose the night of Jumu’a for any forms of ‘Ibādah aside other nights/days.
Imām Muslim records in the Sahih from Abū Hurayrah – radiyallāhu ‘anhu – that the Rasūl – salallāhu alayhi wasallam – said:
: “لا تخصوا ليلة الجمعة بقيام من بين الليالي
_’Do not specifically choose the night of Jumu’a out of all other nights for the singular purpose of Qiyām.”_
Imām An-Nawawī – rahimahullāh – mentioned in the Majmū’ that the Ulamā have a consensus on its dislike.
The same applies to the Fridays that end the month.
