QUESTION

FURTHER ON OBSERVING SALAT IN A HOLD UP

“Assalamualaikum, please on observing salat in a holdup, what about when a woman is sitting next to you or at your front or even atimes when music is been played inside the vehicle…?”

ANSWER:

Alhamdulillaah!

May Allah – Ta’aala – reward you for your love for Ilm, aameen.

If you understood well the answer we gave on this matter, we explained that that verdict (fatwa) only holds in a deperate situation where delay would mean the lapsing of the time for the Salaat.

If that is understood, then it becomes apparent that the presence of a woman in your front or the playing of music in the environment does not affect this fatwa because it is a desperate situation.

And we mentioned that it is not applicable for someone who could manage to observe his Salaat outside the hold-up or observe it before embarking on the drive, or observe it when he alights as long as the stipulated time does not elapse.
