251. QUESTION

“If it happens the closest neighbors to you are non Muslims and the next are Muslims. If you wish to give food, gift, sadaqah etc. Who should be your first priority considering the fact that the Muslim has a double haqq on you as the non Muslim has one?”

ANSWER:

Alhamdulillaah, in that case, it is obligatory to start with the Muslim unless you hope that by preferring the Kaafir with the gift, you will win him over to Islam. Allaahu A’alam.
