” Every one seem to be doing the Ramadan apology pls any bases? Any 1 pls before the onset of Ramadan.”
ANSWER
Alhamdulillaah Wa As-Salaatu Wa As-Salaamu Ala a Rasulillaah.
It has come in the Hadith that was narrated by Abu Ayuub Al-Ansaari – radiyallaahu an hu – and recorded by both Al-Bukhaari and Muslim that the Rasul – salallaahu alayhi wasallam – said:
ﺭﻭﺍﻩ ﺍﻟﺒﺨﺎﺭﻱ ( 5727 ) ﻭﻣﺴﻠﻢ ( 2560 )
“It is not permissible for a Muslim to ex-communicate his brother Muslim for over three days such they they meet and this one turns away from this and the other too turns away from the other. The best of them both is the one that begins with Salaam.”
This Hadith shows the forbiddance of boycotting one another.
And in the Hadith of Abu Hurayrah – radiyallaahu anhu:
ﺭﻭﺍﻩ ﻣﺴﻠﻢ ( 2565 )
“The Gates of Jannah are opened on Mondays and on Thursdays, and everyone that does not associate partners with Allah are forgiven but for two men who have animosity against each other and keep malice. In that case, it is said: refrain from that for these two until they rectify (their relationship), refrain from that for these two until they rectify, refrain from that for these two until they rectify.”
Recorded and Transmitted by Muslim.
These Ahaadith show that it is forbidden to keep malice from a Muslim and that those that keep malice have a risk of not been forgiven.
For the fact that Ramadaan is a month of forgiveness from Allah as is mentioned in the Hadith recorded by Imaam Ibn Al-Khuzaymah – rahimahullaah – from Salman Al-Faarisi – radiyallaahu anhu, some of the Ulamaa and Pious People of the past used to seek forgiveness before Ramadaan and ask others to do same.
Aside this, there is no derivation or basis for this tradition.
