ANSWERS
To questions 1 & 2
As regarding the second question about seeing a brownish colour after the menstrual period. We say,
Purity from menstrual cycle is usually established by either the emission of the white discharge, or by experiencing complete dryness. Such that when a woman inserts a piece of cotton into her vagina, it comes out clean without any traces blood.
Once purity has been established after the menstrual period, what you see of brown or yellow discharge does not affect your fast in anyway because Umm ‘Atiyyah said: “We did not regard brownish or yellowish discharge after the period ended as being anything that mattered.” Abu Dawood.
Classified authentic by al-Albaani in Saheeh Abi Dawood.
The same hadith was also narrated by al-Bukhaari with the words: “We did not regard brownish and yellowish discharge as anything that mattered.”
And Allah knows best.
