#314: Was the Year in which the World will come to an End Specified by the Rasūl?
*QUESTION*
“Asalamualaikum wa ramatullah wa barakatuhu. Please I need a quick answer to this question sir, Is there any hadith that the prophet s.a.w state that the world will come to an end around certain years and what year is it.”_
*ANSWER*
Wa alaykum Salām Warahmatullāh Wabarakātuh.
Alhamdulillāh.
There is no Hadīth or Statement from the Rasūl – salallāhu alayhi wasallam – in which He mentioned a specific time in which the World will come to end. Rather there are various Ahādith that shows that its knowledge is known alone to Allāh – ta’ālā.
In the Hadīth of Umar Ibn Al-Khattāb that was recorded by Imām Muslim about the appearance of Jubrīl – alayhi as-Salam – in the sitting of the Rasūl – salallāhu alayhi wasallam – is the reference for the fact that no one knows the Timing of the Ending of the World and the beginning of the Day of Qiyāmah. Its knowledge is a prerogative of Allāh Alone.
Rather, we were given signs that prelude the world’s end.
We ask Allāh to make us of the Pious that leave the World smiling and pleased to meet their Lord, and to save us from the trials of the Day of Qiyāmah, āmīn.
