#356: How do I Purify a Prayer Mat that was slept on by a Menstruating Non-Muslim?
“As-Salaamu alaykum…In a situation where a kaffir that is not pure lies on the prayer mat, what should be done. How many times should we wash the prayer mat?.”
ANSWER
Wa alaykum Salām Warahmatullāh Wabarakātuh.
Alhamdulillāh.
There is nothing in the Sharī’a to imply that such a mat must be washed any number of times.
Rather what is apparent is that if there are stains of her impurity on it, it must be washed off and probably perfumed to ward off the odour that comes with it.
Aside this, there is nothing to prove further necessary cleansing.
