#421: The Bounties of Allah
QUESTION
“Admin.. I have a question to ask!! Regarding the sabab of Allah’s mercy on mankind(one of which is reverting to islam for kufr,that is the specifics of Allah’s mercy to which I am referring to in this instance),does it always comes in a manner of da’wah ,and goodwill, or do they come also as a result of tradegy,destruction?”
ANSWER
Alhamdulillāh beloved one!
It is very true that some of the bounties of Allah appear ugly to the shallow eyes of man most times but as time unravels its mysteries, man gets to see the bounties of Allāh in it.
Allāh – ta’aala – said:
} ﻭَﻋَﺴَﻰ ﺃَﻥْ ﺗَﻜْﺮَﻫُﻮﺍ ﺷَﻴْﺌًﺎ ﻭَﻫُﻮَ ﺧَﻴْﺮٌ ﻟَﻜُﻢْ ﻭَﻋَﺴَﻰ ﺃَﻥْ ﺗُﺤِﺒُّﻮﺍ ﺷَﻴْﺌًﺎ ﻭَﻫُﻮَ ﺷَﺮٌّ ﻟَﻜُﻢْ ﻭَﺍﻟﻠَّﻪُ ﻳَﻌْﻠَﻢُ ﻭَﺃَﻧْﺘُﻢْ ﻟَﺎ ﺗَﻌْﻠَﻤُﻮﻥَ { [ ﺍﻟﺒﻘﺮﺓ : .{[216
“And it may be that you dislike a thing while it is good for you. And it may be that you love a thing while it is bad for you. Allāh knows and you know not.”
This is particularly distinctly seen in the story of Yusuf – alayhi assalaam – who was not only sold into slavery but also imprisoned. All of that then became the source of bounties for himself, his parents, his brothers and the entirety of mankind.
