” Salaam alaykum Admin.. pls I will like to ask if it is allowed for a male to use chain? I saw it on a respected white sheikh, though it was under his shirt but could be seen from his back neck. Jazakumullahu khairan.”

Wa alaykum salaam warahmatullaah wabarakaatuh
Alhamdulillaah Wassalaatu Assalaamu Ala a Rasulillaah
May Allah bless and reward you for your inquisition and make you of the people of understanding, āmīn.
It is not permissible in the Dīn for a man to wear neck chains. This is due to the generality of the forbiddance of emulating women and kuffaar.
The Ulamā have formed a consensus on the impermissibility of emulating the opposite sex in whatever is known by tradition or religion to be the specific attribute of the other sex.
And in the Hadīth, the Rasūl – salallaahu alayhi wasallam – have cursed, and in one of the narrations narrated the curse of Allāh is on those who emulate the opposite sex.
As for the one who wore it being a Shaykh, it neither justifies it nor changes its ruling.
However, we advise ourselves to always try to give excuses to our fellow brothers and sisters in the Dīn whenever we see them involved in unclear things such as this, that our impressions may not oppress them undeservedly.
Allāhu A’alam
Bārakallāhu Fīkum
Jazākumullāhu Khayran.
