#450: Job Screening Exercises that involves Haraam
QUESTION
” Salam alykum warahmatullaah wabarakatuh sir, Pls I av a question somebody dat apply for job (let say military) and dey are call for screening, in d part of d screening process dey are told to undress ( now in dere nudity for 15min) in Wic dey examine n ask dem different question, so is dis Gud islamicaly? knowing at back of his mind dat if he refuse is automatically Disqualified”
ANSWER
Wa alaykum salām Warahmatullāh Wabarakātuh
Alhamdulillāh.
It is not permissible for a Muslim to apply for such a job in the first place where he needs to commit sins against Allāh first before he acquires the job. That is generic.
And in specifics, any job that requires risking your life in promoting a course other than one that is of Islām is not permissible.
The Ulamā have formed a consensus on the fact that it is impermissible for a Muslim to sacrifice or endanger his life for anything other than the Dīn and/or that others may live.
Therefore, we do not see the permissibility in applying for such a job in the first place.
Muslims should be prudent and relying on Allāh no matter the conditions they find themselves. And they must not resort to that which Allāh disdains.
