#454: Is the Income of Bank Worker Harām

QUESTION

“Please salary from someone who works as a Banker haram?”

ANSWER

Alhamdulillāh.

The texts of the Ahādith have left no doubt of the impermissibility of working in Interest-based Companies and establishments such as the Bank, and the impurity of such wealth.

We have mentioned in other questions answered in the past that our advice to any Muslims who work there is to hurry to leave it for alternatives and to rely upon Allāh in that, and not to delay in leaving.

Remember that death may reach you at a time when you least expect it and then you will be ressurected to Allāh in whose Hands will lie your judgement.

We ask Allāh to bring to the Ummah days where Islamic Rule will dominate, āmīn.
