#539: Can I pray `Asr 30 minutes before its Time due to Work Restraint
QUESTION
” Salaam Alaykun ya admin…pIs i resume work 30mints b4 Asri prayer and and I can’t read my solat while working and would be free from work at Magrib can I pray b4 I resume work.”
ANSWER
Wa ‘alaykum Salām Warahmatullāh Wabarakātuh.
Alhamdulillāh.
It is not permissible to observe a Salāt before the coming of its time and the situation you depicted is not of those situations and conditions that warrant the combination of both Dhuhr and ‘Asr according to the Authentic position regarding this within our Jurisconsults.
What is obligatory upon you in this situation is to find a way to always observe the Salāt during your working hours as best as you can, and you need to explain to your employer that he/she may understand your need and your situation.
However, you may need counselling from the Imams of Mosques around you, if they are People of the Sunnah, to give you the closest to accurate time for the beginning of Salātu Al-‘Asr as the time may have began before the time you think it has began, and then it would be permissible for you to observe your ‘Asr before resuming work.
May Allāh grant you ease and guidance in all of your affairs, āmīn.
Bārakallāhu fīkum.
Jazākumullāhu Khayran
