QUESTION

USING INTEREST RECEIVED FROM A CORPORATE TO PAY FOR A MOTHER’S HOSPITAL FARES

” Assalam aleikun. I have a question. I received an interest money from a cooperative I joined. Earlier today my mum called me about bin sick and in need of money to get drugs and that’s like the only money with me for now so I gave it some of the money because am not sure of what to do with it.Is it allowed giving her the money?. *interest money. Awaiting your answers… Jazkallahu KHAYRAN”

ANSWER

Wa alaykum Salām Warahmatullāh Wabarakātuh.

Alhamdulillāh.

It is permissible that you send such monies to your mum, giving her pressing condition.

However, this will only be so if you have no other means of aiding your ill mother aside this but you are sure that this little money will take her out of her current health challenge.
