#611: After the Six Fast f Shawwal, Can I Fast other voluntarily Fast in the Month?
QUESTION
” Asalamualekun waramatulahi, …concerning the month of shawwal, l just concluded my 6days on Friday I.e yesterday. I use to fasting on every mon and Thurs.including 13th 14th and 15th every month on islam calendar. What do I do. Should I continues as usual or after 6day fasting on shawwal I should wait till following month to continue? Expecting it answer. Jazakunmulahi khairah.”

May Allāh reward you in many folds for your steadfastness and your fasting the six of Shawwal, āmīn. We ask Him to write for you its rewards āmīn.
Concerning this, you are permitted by the Sharī’a to fast as many voluntary fastings as you wish as long as you do not single Friday or Saturday for the fast, in accordance with the dominant position among the ‘Ulamā.
