#646: Can I work as a Network Engineer in a Hotel?
QUESTION:
“Salamun alaykum waramotulahi wabarakatuhu.
Can a Muslim work in an hotel as their network engineer??”
ANSWER:
Wa Alaykum Salām Warahmatullāh Wabarakātuh
May Allāh perfect his favours upon you, amīn.
We have explained in our response to operating hotels in No 651 that there is nothing wrong in operating a Hotel and working in it if it does not go against the Principles of the Sharī’ah in it’s existence and operation.
The same applies to this question. But with respect to most hotels in this era and what they do in them, we advise you to seek employment somewhere else and to put your trust in Allāh.
Dare your fears, put your trust in your Creator Allāh and go ahead to seek for employment in other places and Allāh will open a way for you where you never thought of.
وَيَرْزُقْهُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَحْتَسِبُ ۚ وَمَنْ يَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى اللَّهِ فَهُوَ حَسْبُهُ ۚ
“And will provide for him from where he does not expect. And whoever relies upon Allah – then He is sufficient for him.”
