QUESTION
“Assalam alaykum ma,pls help me wit dis question, is d use of drugs, injection or any object in order to prevent pregnancy for sometime in order to create d ability to nurture d child with one and to avoid stress for one haram in Islam? Cos I do hear DAT family planning is not good?”
ANSWER:
Wa Alaykum Salām Warahmatullāh Wabarakātuh
May Allāh Grant you the ability to nurse your current child with the training that Islām brings and may He make him of the People of Īmān and the Torchbearers of the Dīn’s Revival, amīn
As for the taking of pills and other Control Mechanisms, know that of them are what is permissible and what is not.
Generally, anything that brings harm to the body whether with an immediate or a later effect is deemed Harām due to the fact that it harms. Likewise any measure that involves permanent damage or alteration is also deemed Harām as Allāh has forbidden the changing of our Creation.
Any birth control measure that does not involve any of the above, and is free of any Harām processes, is disliked, such as Withdrawal ( ‘Uzl ). This position is buttressed by the elucidations of Imām An-Nawawī – rahimahullāh – in his Shar’h on Sahīh Muslim.
However, putting one’s trust in Allāh and knowing that whatever He has decreed to be will be and we are not capable of stopping the coming of His Creation.
