#664: Ruling on the One who belies the Hadith of the 72 Hūr of the Martyr

QUESTION:

“Sallam alaykum Ya admin,pls what is the ruling of a Muslim who think the promise of the 72 hoor(virgin of Jannah)for the matyrs is a myth,jazakumullahu khyran as you respond,sallam alaykum”

ANSWER:

Wa ‘Alaykum Salām Warahmatullāh Wabarakātuh

Alhamdulillāh.

There are two possibilities.

One, that he doesn’t believe that the Hadīth is Authentically a Statement of the Rasūl – salallāhu ‘alayhi wasallam. In this case, it should be established to him the authenticity of the Hadīth in this regard.

Two, he agrees to the Authenticity but doesn’t believe what the Rasūl – salallāhu ‘alayhi wasallam – said to be true. Whosoever this is his case is a Kāfir and an apostate from the Dīn who must be shown the reality of the obligation of betruthing the Rasūl – salallāhu ‘alayhi wasallam – in whatever is Authentically reported from him.

In any case, we must realise the weakness of the Imān of people in this time and era and as Du’āt, we must strive to explain to people in ways that they can understand, the realities in the Dīn.
