#778: Ruling on selling things twice the Cost Price
778 QUESTION
“Sallam alaykum what is the Ruling of selling goods twice the price you bought them(For instance you bought a good for 1500 and you sell it for 3000 or 4500),pls is this permissible,Jazakumullahu Khyran as you answer”

Wa Alaykum Salām Warahmatullāh Wabarakātuh
Alhamdulillāh!
The Sharī’ah has commanded that we be gentle upon one another and not to inflate prices upon our communities. This is because of what it entails of making things difficult upon the Ummah.
However the Sharī’ah has not placed a limit as to the profit margin on goods and commodities sold for profit. This is because the prices of goods are determined by many factors recognised by the Sharī’ah.
What matters therefore is that you do not exploit your brothers and sisters by your selling prices, and Allāh knows best.
