#784: Does Fantasizing about Sex and Emiting Sexual Fluid terminate the Fast?
784 QUESTION
“As-salamualaykum warahmatullah wabarakatuhu . My question is a bit personal and it goes thus; I slept after solatus-subhi, it was almost an hour drip but it wasn’t deep, but during the process, I was fantasising about sex, at the same time I felt like urinating, so I stood up and went to urinate, Coming back I had pre-cum on me. Now my question is is my fasting still valid, am I expected to make ghusl Janabah ?”
ANSWER:
Wa Alaykum Salām Warahmatullāh Wabarakātuh.
Alhamdulillāh.
Know, may Allāh illumine your heart, that it is not right for you to fantasise about sex knowing that you are fasting and in the doing of that is the possibility of exposing yourself to that which can terminate the fast. And the Ulamā have agreed that this is Harām for the fasting person.
As for the emission of Prostatic Fluid then this is not of the things that terminate the fast and what we see is that your fasting remains intact as long as what was emitted was not semen.
As for the Janābah bath, there is no obligation of that upon you as long as what comes from you is Prostatic Fluid and not Semen.
May Allāh accept our fasts and make us of those who benefit from this blessed month, amīn.
