#797: Ruling on Observing Tahiyyatu al-Masjid if `Īd is observed in the Masjid

797. QUESTION

“Assalamu’alaykum warahmatullah @admin Question:in a situation where the eid prayer is observed inside the masjid is there need for tahiyyaatul masjid?”

ANSWER:

Wa Alaykum Salām Warahmatullāh Wabarakātuh.

Alhamdulillāh.

May Allāh accept our fast and make us of His Elect Servants, amīn.

As for when the Īd is observed in the Masjid, then the ruling regarding to Tahiyyatu Al-Masjid applies and should be carried out. However the Īd should be observed in the open field and not in the Masjid unless in the situation of rainfall and it’s likes.
