#80. BEAUTIFING THE VOICE FOR THE RECITATION OF THE QUR’AAN

Please, do you have any advice on how one can beautify his voice in recitation of the Holy Qur’an?

Wa alaykum salaam warahmatullaah wabarakaatuh
Alhamdulillaah, may Allaah reward you too, aameen.
Whosoever wants to beautify his voice with the recitation of the Qur’aan must do three things:
1. He must study Tajwid to perfection by understanding the Makhaariju Al-Huruf (the Phonetics of the Arabic Alphabets), the Ahkaam (Rulings) of the Mudud (Stresses), and other Rulings of Tajwid
2. He must study the Qur’an under the guidance of a Shaykh who has perfected the Qur’an and heard its verses from a Teacher
3. He must seek for Allah’s assistance and guidance in that regard and seek to ponder over its meanings and realize that once the Qur’an gains access to the heart, it embellishes it with a lot of good.
If he is capable, he should study the various Qiraa’aat (Methodologies of Recitation) that have been transmitted from the Rasul – _salallaahu alayhi wasallam_ –
May Allah ease your journey towards that and grant you Tawfiq, aameen.
