#819: Ruling in supplicating to Allah using Verse of the Qur’ān
819. QUESTION
ON SUPPLICATING TO ALLAH USING VERSED OF THE QUR’ĀN
“Urgent Question. Assalamu Alykum waramatullah, What is the position of Islam over prayer that as to do with recitation of pure Qur’an without prescription of anything and without demand for anything. And after that duplicating to Allah because that person has been disturbing but I still want to confirm if is permeasible in Islam. Jezakumullahu khira Shiek”
ANSWER:
Wa Alaykum Salām Warahmatullāh Wabarakātuh
Alhamdulillāh.
The question is not very clear. However from what has been said, if it is simply the use of verses of the Qur’ān for the purpose of Supplications to Allāh and making Du’ā after that, there is nothing wrong with that provided a congregation is not gathered for that purpose. This is because to congregate for the single purpose of Du’ā is not known in the lifetime of the Predecessors. There is nothing wrong in making Du’ā in Congregation if the essence of the gathering in the first place was not merely to make Du’ā, such as after a Lesson in the Sharī’ah and it’s likes.
We ask Allāh to answer the prayers of the Muslims, amīn.
Bārakallāhu Fīkum
Jazakumullāhu Khayran
