#839: Ruling on Women wearing the P-Cap
838. QUESTION:
“Assalamu alaykum sheikh. What is the shariah rulings of a female wearing p – cap”
ANSWER:
Wa Alaykum Salām Warahmatullāh Wabarakātuh.
Alhamdulillāh.
As for the Cap, there is no restriction that forbids women from the wearing of caps as long as the cap is not of those caps that are customarily or traditionally the wears of men such as the Tāqiyah or what is referred to as Kūfi (Skull caps), etc.
There is nothing wrong in a woman wearing a cap that is not known to be specific to men such as the bubble cap (head warmers), etc. And that abides by the rules of Women clothing in the Sharī’ah.
As for the P-Cap, though this is known to be unisex and known to be worn by both men and women, it should be avoided outdoor by Muslim Women as it cannot be worn in accordance with the Hijāb in most cases, and Allāh knows best.
Bārakallāhu Fīkum
Jazakumullāhu Khayran.
21st Muharram 1441AH.
