#894: Is observing Wudhū Obligatory before sleep for the Junub
894. QUESTION:
“Jezakumullahu khira Sheikh. My question is will it now be compusery for the Junub to perform abulution before sleepingand if he fail to do so is there any sin on him/her? Jezakumullhu khira”.
ANSWER:
Wa Iyyākum.
It is not compulsory but it is a Sunnah of the Rasūl-salallāhu Alayhi Wasallam. And most of the Ulamā considered it Makrūh to not observe the Wudhū before sleeping if a person is Junub.
This is also the position of Shaykh Abdul’Aziz bn Bāz and Shaykh Muhammad Sālih Al-‘Uthaymīn rahimahumullāh.
This also means that there is no sin on the one who does not perform the Wudhū in that condition.
