#903: On The Hadīth On Deposing The Ruler Who Has Displayed Kufr

I have once read an Hadīth where it was reported that the messenger of Allah (salallahu alayhi wasalam) said
“Remove the leader when you see clear Kufr”
Is this Hadīth authentic? If yes,can I have reference for it?

Alhamdulillāh.
What seems apparent is that you are referring to the Hadith of ‘Ubādah bn As-Sāmit – radiyallāhu ‘anhu – that was recorded by both Imām Al-Bukhārī and Muslim where he said:
فَبَايَعْنَاهُ، فَقَالَ فِيمَا أَخَذَ عَلَيْنَا: أَنْ بَايَعَنَا عَلَى السَّمْعِ وَالطَّاعَةِ فِي مَنْشَطِنَا وَمَكْرَهِنَا، وَعُسْرِنَا وَيُسْرِنَا، وَأَثَرَةً عَلَيْنَا، وَأَنْ لَا نُنَازِعَ الْأَمْرَ أَهْلَهُ إِلَّا أَنْ تَرَوْا كُفْرًا بَوَاحًا عِنْدَكُمْ مِنَ اللَّهِ فِيهِ بُرْهَانٌ
“Thus we gave Bay’ah to him and of the things we gave Bay’ah over is As-Sam’u Wa At-Tā’ah (To listen and to Obey) in both our times of willfulness and reluctance, and our times of ease and difficulty, and in preference over ourselves, and that we should not dispute with the Leaders the matter (of Leadership) except you see a clear Kufr for which we have clarity of Proof from Allāh.”
This Hadīth is Sahīh and Trustworthy.
