#99. CLARIFICATIONS ON THE SHI’ITE SECT

Alhamdulillāh!
Beloved one, we ask Allāh to be with you and to grant you guidance and certainty in your Dīn.
Beware that the Shi’ite sect we have today has four phases in its development.
It began as a Political Movement when their was a band of people that supported Alī – radiyallāhu ‘anhu – against Mu’āwiya Ibn Abī Sufyan – radiyallāhu A’nhu. At the beginning of this Civil Strife, the band that was with Amīru Al-Mu’minīn Alī Ibn Abī Tālib – radiyallāhu ‘an hu – were only referred to as the Jamā’a as he was the Khalifah at the time. The historians mentioned that over 800 among the 1400 Sahābah that were present during the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah and who gave the Bay’a of Ridwān were in the Jamā’a of Alī against Mu’āwiya, radiyallāhu ‘anhum.
Close to the end of the reign and life of Ali – radiyallāhu ‘anhu, there now began to exist an extreme wing of the Jamā’a that began to raise very heretical creeds claiming that leadership of the Ummah right from after the Rasul – salallāhu alayhi Wa salām – should have been to Ali – radiyallāhu ‘anhu. Some of these went extreme to the extent that some of them held that Ali ought to have been the Prophet. This increasing heretical band that claimed to follow in the lines of Ali – radiyallāhu ‘anhu – began to be known as the Shī’a. Non of the sahabas are part this band (please note).
Through the annals of our history, different Shi’ite denominations arose after it had become a Creedal movement that had its own ‘Aqīdah and held its own entirely new beliefs.
They also developed their own Fiqh with time and held very strange positions on matters that relate to Wudhū, Salāt and the matters of Nikāh and Mut’ā.
As for the stone that they always observe Salāt with, then you should know that the Shi’ite Fiqh believed that it is not permissible to make Sujūd on anything other than the ground or anything that springs off it such as sand and stone. They only permit Sujūd in cloth, mat or rug in extreme necessities. But the best of things to make Sujūd on for them, is to make Sujūd on the earth that is taken from the grave if Husayn Ibn Ali – radiyallāhu anhuma. They call it _’At-Turbatu Al-Husayniyyah’_. Therefore, they have made it into baked and shaped stone pebbles that they sell across the world for their followers to use whenever they want to say their Salāt.
These innovative and heretical Fiqh positions that are not based on any shred of evidence from either the Qur’ān or the Sunnah are among the misguidances upon which the Shi’ite tradition and creed is built.
Worst still are their Creedal Beliefs (‘Aqīdah) that hold that all of the Sahābah were apostates, and so on.
