#37. THE AUTHENTICITY OF THE ASSERTION OF SULAYMAN ALAYHISSALAAM AS THE LAST OF PROPHETS TO ENTER INTO JANNAH
“sallamu alaikum wa barakatu Ya admin, please is there any authentic proof that prophet Sulaiman will be the last prophet to enter Jannah, and that Nana Maryam, will be wife of prophet Muhammad (Salallahu alayhi wasallam)Jazakhallahu khairan”
ANSWER
Wa alaykum salaam warahmatullaah wabarakaatuh
Alhamdulillaah, Sulayman alayhis-salaam is one of the most honoured Prophets and Messengers of Allaah and there is nothing reported to support the statement that he will be the last of the Prophets to enter Jannah except for what Imaam At-Tabaraani – rahimahullaah – recorded in ‘Al-Awsat’ and ‘Al-Kabir’. At-Tabaraani himself and majority of the Ulamaa of Hadith have agreed to the weakness and crookedness in the Hadith. Imaam Al-Qurtubi – rahimahullaah – mentioned that in his tafsir.
We must avoid saying things in the Din that which we have little or no knowledge of and that have not been verified as true, correct and safe.
As for the statement that Maryam – alayhas-salaam – will be married to the Rasul – saallaahu alayhi wa sallam – in Jannah, then the closest to this is the Hadith narrated by Abu Umaamah – radiyallaahu a’nhu – that he heard the Rasul – salallaahi alayhi wasallam – saying to A’ishah:
“I perceive that Allah has married to me in Jannah Maryam the daughter of Imraan, Kulthum the sister of Musa and the wife of Fir’awn.”
About this Hadith, Al-Haythami – rahimahullaah – said:
“It is recorded by At-Tabaraani and in its Isnaad is Khaalid Ibn Yusuf As-Simti who is a weak narrator.”
Many of the Ulamaa of Hadith have given same ruling to the Hadith.
We, as believers must not attribute anything to absolute knowledge but that which have been authentically narrated from the Rasul – salallaahu alayhi wa sallam.
