*QUESTION*

*CAN I MARRY A BROTHER THAT WORKS IN A BANK*

_” Assalamu alaykum. May Allah grant you steadfastness in the Deen. A brother who is a banker proposed to an upright sister. Considering his type of job, the sister is asking if its permissible to marry him.”_

*ANSWER*

Wa alaykum Salām Warahmatullāh Wabarakātuh

Alhamdulillāh.

There is nothing impermissible about marrying such a brother except that his source of income is not Halāl in the light of alternatives.

Therefore, what we advise her to do is to tell him she would have married him if he wasn’t working in such a Company. And if he would change his place of work, she would marry him. This probably, would make him reconsider his ways in accordance.

May Allāh grant us income from Halāl earnings and grant the sister a very pious and caring brother who would guide her through the challenges of life. Āmīn.
