#296: Ruling on Ejaculation and Sexual Foreplay in Ramadan
Question
As-salaamu alaikum . Please Admin help us with this question:
Does ejaculation during foreplay without sexual intercourse in Ramadan & voluntary fast invalidate one’s fast. Jazakallaahu khayran.
ANSWER
Wa alaikum salaam Wa Rahmatullah Wa barakatuh,
1. The one that ejaculates due to engaging in foreplay with his wife in the day time of Ramadan has nullified his fast of that day in which the incidence took place.
This is because this goes contrary to the apparent meaning of the hadith which imam Bukhari narrates. Allah says, “he gives up his desires and food for my sake”.
The one that engages in foreplay with his wife in the day time of Ramadan has not given up his desires. And he has disregarded the sanctity of the month.
Shaykh Uthaymin says in sharh Al mumti 6/388;
If a man touches his wife, whether he touches her with his hand, or with his face by kissing her, or with his private part without penetrating, and ejaculates, has nullified his fast.
Such a person is supposed to regret his action, ask for the forgiveness of Allah, and make up that days fast on another day.
Note that same applies to your wife if she climaxed in the process.
