#1068: On Playing Qur’ān Or Nasheeds During Walimatun Nikaah

Assalam alaykum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh
QUESTION
Can one play Quran on the speaker during walimatul nikkah?
And also, can one play nasheed without music of a nasheed artist that usually use music but the music has been taken out (i.e vocals only) during the nikah?

ANSWER:

Wa Alaykum Salam Warahmatullah Wabarakaatuh.

There is nothing wrong with playing pre-recorded recitation of the Qur’an provided the ettiquetes of listening to the Qur’an are observed when it is being played and provided it is not played by way of Riyaa and Ostentatiousness.

There is also nothing wrong in the playing of Anaasheed that are vocals only provided the wordings are free of Fawaahish and are not wasteful wordings that have no meanings or incite toward that which is not praiseworthy.
