Wa Alaykum Salam Warahmatullah Wabarakaatuh
Alhamdulillāh.
We have mentioned in our response to Question 23 on our Telegram Channel that the Ulama differed as to whether Alcohol was regarded as impurity or not. We mentioned that the Majority viewed it as Najasah and that the minority do not.
In accordance with the position of the Majority, alcohol must not be used on the body as it is referred as a form of impurity. But the question that reads itself out in the matter that was asked upon is if the Elements you refer to in the Cream are alcoholic and intoxicating in themselves when taken in isolation.
If they are Intoxicants then the use of them in such creams will be considered impermissible for use in accordance with the position of the majority. If they are not, then they can’t be referred as impermissible.
But we maintained, and Allah knows best that what is stronger of the two positions is that Alcholol cannot be regarded as Najasah.
In accordance with this position, what it means is that it is permissible even if these additives were intoxicating in themselves.
And Allah knows best.
Bārakallāhu fīkum.
