Q&A (Fatwa)

#562: Is there any Du`a to be made after reciting Surātul Mulk

QUESTION

” Aslm alykm, …Ya sheikh, is there any authentic narration that teachs a supplication to be recited after reading suratul mulk?”

ANSWER

Wa alaykum Salām Warahmatullāh Wabarakātuh.

Alhamdulillāh.

Numerous Ahādith have been recorded from the Rasūl – salallāhu alayhi wasallam – encouraging the recitation of Sūratu Al-Mulk, and that it saves one from the punishment of the Grave.

Of them is the Hadīth recorded by Al-Hākim and considered Sahīh by Ad-Dhahabī in which the Rasūl – salallāhu alayhi wasallam – said:

سورة تبارك هي المانعة من عذاب القبر.

“Sūratu Tabārak is the safe guarding from the Punishment of the Grave.”

However, there is nothing reported from the Rasūl – salallāhu alayhi wasallam – encouraging the saying of any Du’ā after its recitation.

Bārakallāhu fīkum
Jazākumullāhu Khayran.
