#681: How to manage Husband that Womanizes
QUESTION:
“I have a question for the group. It goes thus:If ones husband is a womanizer or that sleep around with women, How are we going to have a safe sex with such partner??? After your possible best to stop him but not yield”
ANSWER:
Alhamdulillāh!
We ask Allāh to be merciful upon your husband and to guide him, body, soul and mind, away from such shameful acts, amīn.
Firstly, we must emphasize that it is known by necessity in the Dīn that Zinā is one of the greatest sins on the surface of the earth, especially for a married man or woman.
Then know that what is obligatory upon you if your husband has been proven to be a womanizer is to be very proactive in making Nasīhah to him and finding very resourceful ways to preventing him from that as best as you can.
If then it fails, and he remains an ardent womanizer that has become used to it and will not stop it, you are required by the Sharī’ah to find ways at dissolving that marriage as best as you can either by Talāq or by Khul’a
This is because of the many risks and dangers that lie in such marriages for yourself and your children.
What we have said has been alluded to by Shaykhu Al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah in Majmū’atu Al-Fatāwah and others.
