#860: Ruling on what to do if One forgets Salāt unintentionally
860. QUESTION:
“Questions: What to do when person forget a Solaat unintentional? Jezakumullahu khira. May Allah increase Sheik in ISTIQAMA. Aameen.”
ANSWER:
Wa Iyyākum, and may Allāh Grant you same.
Whosoever missed a Salāt by mistake or by way of forgetfulness, must observe it immediately he remembers it.
In the Hadīth that was recorded by both Imām Al-Bukhārī and Muslim, the Rasūl -salallāhu alayhi wasallam – said:
من نسي صلاة فليصلها إذا ذكرها لا كفارة لها إلا ذلك.
“Whomsoever forgets a Salāt must observe it the moment he remembers it. There is no other way of compensating for that (forgetfulness) other than that”
And Allāh knows best.
