THE KINSHIP.
Keeping good relationship with the kin is not something that’s less important in the life of a Muslim. Rather, its virtues can not be overemphasized.
For when Iraqal- the king of Rūm- asked Abā sufyān regarding what the Messenger sallallāhu a’layhi wasallam used to order them to do, he said:
_He orders us to offer prayers and to pay zakat and to keep good relationship with the kin and to be chaste._
Keeping good relationship with the kin is an indication of Taqwah, fear of Allāh and pure heart. It is one of the best way to attain jannah.
The Messenger sallallāhu a’layhi wasallam said:
_He will not enter the Jannah, the one who breaks ties of kinship._
In order word, whosoever keeps ties of kinship, will enter Jannah.
Therefore, do not belittle keeping good relationship with your kinship. If you cannot visit them, at least call them to enquire about their situation and hasten to answer their called when that arises.
