At-Taqwah.
At-Taqwah (Piety) is for a servant to place a barrier between himself and the wrath of Allāh Ta’āla. And this is done by sticking to obedience and shunning away from sins. At-Taqwah prevents a servant from falling into hell in which everyone shall pass over the sirāt, and this is an unavoidable decree.
Therefore, fasting is one of the main ways of attaining piety when it is sincerely done.
Ibn Al-Jawzī Rahimahullāhu said:
_I was bored with a matter which led to sadness and grieve, then I took my time pondering on how to get rid the sorrow but no outlet found. Then I came across a verse which says; Whoever is careful of his duty to Allāh, He will make for him an outlet. Then I realized that piety is the only outlet for glooms. Thus, I hasten to install piety, then I came out from the grief._
Hence, install piety so that you will be free of sadness and worries.
