KINDNESS.
Oh the fasting Men and Fasting Women! In Ramadān, we are highly recommended to be kind, gentle, restrain our anger and to pardon others upon their mistakes, and to also repel evil with what is best so that we may safeguard our fasting from been annulled.
In the Sahīhayn, the Messenger salallāhu ‘alayhi wasallam said:
_إﺫَﺍ ﻛَﺎﻥَ ﻳَﻮْﻡُ ﺻَﻮْﻡِ ﺃَﺣَﺪِﻛُﻢْ ﻓَﻼ ﻳَﺮْﻓُﺚْ ، ﻭَﻻ ﻳَﺴْﺨَﺐْ ، ﻓَﺈِﻥْ ﺳَﺎﺑَّﻪُ ﺃَﺣَﺪٌ ﺃَﻭْ ﺷَﺎﺗَﻤَﻪُ ﺃَﻭْ ﻗَﺎﺗَﻠَﻪُ ﻓَﻠْﻴَﻘُﻞْ: ﺇِﻧِّﻲ ﺍﻣْﺮُﺅٌ ﺻَﺎﺋِﻢٌ_
_”So, the person observing fasting should avoid sexual relation with his wife and should not behave foolishly and impudently, and if somebody fights with him or abuses him, he should tell him twice, ‘I am fasting._
Thus, what we learnt from this hadīth, is for us to be patient, kind and not to behave foolish to others especially during fasting and so that we may train ourselves on this good attribute of forbearance.
But, is there anyone who will mind this oh beloved ummah?
Bārakallāhu fīkum
