In The Shades of Muslim Dynasties
LESSONS FROM THE ANNALS OF MUSLIM HISTORY #5
One of the most fascinating things about our history and our historians is that it records everything. Things that are against us and things that are for us.
It is true that the *Islamic States* that existed throughout our history were not perfect, and many of them threaded way out of line from the commands and examples of the Rasūl – salallāhu alayhi wasallam.
There was, in these dynasties (Umayyad, Abbasid, Mamluke, Ayyubid, etc) eras of oppression, sectarianism, strife, heresy, sets. But our Fuqahā are in agreement that under Muslim Caliphate, any attempt to rebel and topple an oppressive ruler that leads to mass spilling of blood and instability is unacceptable and wrong. For this reason, it is found everywhere in the Books of ‘Aqīdah and Fiqh that rebelling against any Muslim State is against the Creed of Islām.
Though not pure and pristine, these dynasties ensured that The Sharī’a of Allah was supreme and implemented, that the Muslim Ummah’s Dīn, blood and property were protected, and that Jihād against the non-allied non-Muslim Nations that reared their heads…
Those who have read our history would know that the Muslim Leaders we had under those dynasties were far better than the most just and generous leader among the leaders of the Muslim World today.
