In Sahūr, There is Barakah
It is transmitted in a Hadīth Al-Muttafaqun ‘alayhi that the Messenger salallāhu ‘alayhi wasallam said:
ﺗَﺴَﺤَّﺮُﻭﺍ ﻓَﺈِﻥَّ ﻓِﻲ ﺍﻟﺴَّﺤُﻮﺭِ ﺑَﺮَﻛَﺔً
Eat suhoor, for in suhoor there is blessing.
In this hadith, we are recommended to take Sahūr which is to eat or drink before the dawn time for Fajr as a preparation for the fast, and in order to also obtain blessings by so doing.
Oh fasting Men and women, can there be any logical reason for not taking Sahūr looking at it’s blessings? Whereof is increase in goodness in this world and Hereafter.
Oh the Fasting Men and Women, we should not be amongst the lazy ones who claim that they have already taken their Sahūr in the night and won’t wake up for Sahūr.
This is normally due to their ignorance, laziness, and attachment to their beds.
Hence, oh beloved brothers and sisters, hasten to take Sahūr even it is just a few sips of water so that you may be blessed in the Dunya and the life to come.
Bārakallāhu fīkum
