“Sir ,what do you mean by Ulumu Al-Aalaat (The tools of the scholarship)”
ANSWER:
Alhamdulillaah! Wa as-Salaaltu was as-salaamu ‘ala Rasulillaah!
Most of the Ulamaa, as Sufyan Al-Hakami mentioned in ‘Uddatu At-Talab, divide the Sciences of Islam broadly into two (Ulum Al-Maqaasid and Ulumu Al-Aalaat) that is the ‘Sciences of the Main Subjects’ and the ‘Sciences of the Tools’
The Ulumu Al-Aalaat are those Sciences that only help you in understanding and comprehending perfectly the Qur’an and the Hadith, the Statements of the Ulamaa. And give you the basic rudiments that allow you to, by yourself, synthesize and extrapolate rulings and verdicts by yourself when you perfect them.
Some of these sciences include Usul Al-Fiqh, Mustalihu Al-Hadith, An-Nahw, As-Sarf, Al-Bayaan, etc.
