It is reported from Hudhaifah radiyallaahu anhu- who said – The Messenger of Allah -salallaahu alayhi wasallam said:
“A slanderer will not enter Paradise”.Agreed upon.

COMMENTARY
The hadith shows the importance of the following:
1. It indicates that it is disliked and Haraam(proscribed) to slander others. Slandering is making false accusations about your brother in his absence. This act is forbidden by Allah because they sow enmity, evils and discord among people and leads to destruction. It causes hostilities between people of the same household and between neighbors and relatives. It can decrease the good deeds and increase the evil ones and lead to dishonor and ignominy.
Slandering is a shameful and disgraceful act. The perpetrators are detested and they shall not have a noble death. Allah forbids these acts, as He says in the Qur’an and we have mentioned many Aahadith that forbid this act.
2. It shows that a slanderer will not enter Paradise. However, this does not mean that he will not enter paradise forever. If Allah wish, He might forgive him because of His infinite mercy. And if He wish, He might punish him. The only act that can lead one to remain in hell forever is Shirk( major shirk). We seek refuge in Allah from any form of shirk.
3. It shows the gravity of the sin committed by a slanderer. For the fact that a slanderer will not enter paradise on the last day, shows how grievous or dangerous this act is.
