DAILY POST #106
Imaam Ibn Hajar Al-‘Asqalaani – rahimahullaah said:
It is reported from Mua’dh radiyallaahu anhu- who said – The Messenger of Allah -salallaahu alayhi wasallam said:
“Whosoever disgraces his brother for a sin he committed, he will not die until he commits it himself.”
Transmitted and recorded by Imaam Tirmidhi in his “Sunan”#2505 and He graded as Hasan. Imaam Al-Albaani declared the hadith to be Fabricated in “Adda’ifah”#178.
COMMENTARY
The hadith shows the importance of the following:
♦ It shows that it is disliked for one to dishonor his brother because of the sin he committed. Rather, he should advice him, pray for him and he should conceal his fault. But he can only reveal the sin in six different places as we have made mentioned of them in our previous daily post ( I.e NO. 87).
♦ It is disliked for one to feel proud of himself because Allah Has saved him from committing major sins. But one should know that it is Allah alone that can save him from the plot of the shaitaan and not his power or logic.
♦ It indicates that whoever disgraces his brother because of his sins, he will not die until he commits it himself.
