It is reported from Ibn Umar radiyallaahu anhuma- who said – The Messenger of Allah -salallaahu alayhi wasallam said:
“Al-Hayaa’u’ (bashfulness) is a part of Imaan (Faith)”. Agreed upon.

COMMENTARY
The hadith shows the importance of the following:
♦ It indicates that bashfulness is a part of Imaan. This is because shyness prevents one from committing sins.
♦ It shows that bashfulness is a part of good morals.
♦ Lastly, this does not mean one should be shy in doing good deeds like keeping of beard and wearing of Hijab, because this is weakness and negligence in following the Hukm of Allah Subuhanahu wata’ala. Rather, bashfulness should only prevent one from committing sins and not that it prevent one from good acts.
