Imaam Ibn Hajar Al-‘Asqalaani – rahimahullaah – said:
It was reported from Abu Hurairah radiyallaahu anhu- who said – The Messenger of Allah -salallaahu alayhi wasallam said:
“A believer is the mirror of his Muslim brother.”
Transmitted and recorded by Imaam Abu Daawud in his “Sunan”#4918. And Shaykh Al-Albaani declared it as Sahih in “Assahiha”#926.
COMMENTARY
The hadith shows the importance of the following:
♦ It shows that a believer is like a mirror to his Muslim brother. This means that when a believer helps his brother to see what needs correction, he is like well-lit mirror.
♦ It encourages that one should be good to his Muslim brother by improving his condition, aiding him in all that is good and keeping him clear from arrogance and pride.
♦ It encourages caring for other Muslims, Showing them what is not good for them and advising them on the needs for correction.
