🕌 *SHARH SESSION*

Assalāmu Alaykum Warahmatullāh Wabarakātuh
Beloved brothers and sisters, we shall inshā Allāh continue from where we stopped in our sharh of the excellent epistle written by the Mujaddid Imām
Shaykh Uthman Dan Fodio – rahimahullāh –
_Nasīhatu Ahli Az-Zamān_
Shaykh Uthman continued by quoting Al-Yūsī – rahimahullāh – saying
نعم ذكر ما يقع منهم من المناكر بالتنصيص بقصد الإحتراز مع الإنصاف كما فعل أبو العباس في النصح الأنفع وفي عمدة المريد الصادق نافع مفيد غير أنه صعب
_”Yes, to mention what they (the people of the time) have fallen into of evil in a blameworthy manner with the intent to avoid, while at the same time been fair and just – just like was done by Abū Al-‘Abbās in An-Nus’h Al-Anfa’ and in Undatu Al-Murīd As-Sādiq – is very beneficial and benefitting. Except that this is a difficult thing to do…”_
_*Umdatu Al-Murîd_
The Abū Al-‘Abbās to whom he refers is the Imām and Ālim, the Sūfī Shaykh, Ahmad Zarrūq Al-Fāsī – rahimahullāh – the last of the Faqih Sūfis according to our Scholars.
Though Imām Zarrūq had his mistakes in some of the matters of Tasawwuf, the Ulamā have accepted his works and recognized his efforts.
May Allāh be merciful to him
Āmīn
His book to which Al-Yūsī – rahimahullāh – referred is called _’Umdatu Al-Murīd As-Sādiq Min Asbābi Al-Muqt Fī Bayāni At-Tarīq Wa Dhikri Khawwāsi Al-Waqt_
The book premises on the understanding of Bid’a, the things that lead to misguidance and understanding of events
In its excellence, the book made mentions of Bid’a and its ills
Al-Yūsī continued by saying
May Allāh be merciful to the Imām
_”…Except that this is a difficult thing because such requires a deeply rooted understanding and depth on knowledge and experience. For the fact that of things, only a very few are absolute and exclusive by which they can be said to be praiseworthy in its entirety or blameworthy in its entirety. Most things are relative and subject to comprehension, varying by the perspectives of people, intentions, era, place and conditions. Strive to understand that.”_ end of quote
Shaykh Dan Fodio said
وبانتهاىه انتهت المقدمة وقد آن شروعنا في بيان فصول الكتاب
We shall pause here and when we begin tomorrow, we shall, Allāh willing explain the later words of Al-Yūsī – rahimahullāh – and try to apply them to this era of ours
